Lee’s Ear Candles

Posted in Ear Candle Company Reviews, Things to know when BUYING Ear Candles at 11:20 am by Administrator

I thought I had already posted about this some time ago.  I didn’t.  Betty Lee, owner of Lee’s Ear Candles, passed in January. She was a great woman and helped with the ear candle lawsuits against the FDA.  According to Doc Harmony, “she was very passionate about our Rights and did what she could.”

In that her business is now closed  (the decision of her family), any former customers can go to my website directly http://www.earcandlelady.com to look for new, affordable ear candle companies to order from.

Betty was a great person and will be missed within the ear candle community.  Safe voyages, Betty!

Walmart Ear Candles?

Posted in SALES- COUPONS- SPECIALS!!!, Things to know when BUYING Ear Candles at 7:32 pm by Administrator

“Holy $$ under the table, Batman!”   If this isn’t a quackwatch.com nightmare, I don’t know what is!

The ear candle lady would LOVE to know how WALMART managed to get approval to sell EAR CANDLES when every other retailer (health food outlets specifically) were pressured to remove them.  What magical $$ wand $$ did Wally wave to get the FDA to look the other way?

The skeptic screaming, debunking, jihad the FDA has waged against the ear candle industry has now been blown out of the water by the power of Walmart!  Unbelievable. . . just unbelievable.

So, what does this say about the FDA?  What does this say about Walmart?   Makes skeptics wonder if  The Ear Candle Lady isn’t barking mad afterall?  Or maybe, just maybe, there’s something REAL about ear candling?  Or, our government agencies are just as corrupt as we’ve suspected all along. . .  .which leads us right back to the whole mess the FDA and Big Pharma created for the alternative therapy and ear candle industries to begin with.  DOLLARS!  IT’S ALL ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY $.

Walmart sees the $$ signs and knows there’s money to be made in alternative therapies.  PEOPLE WANT EAR CANDLES! Of course, to be fair, they also sell the Wax Vac, which is the most offensive alternative therapy product known to man.

Walmart Ear Candles are actually Wally’s Ear Candles (maybe it’s all in the name).  They are more expensive through Walmart than the companies I have posted on my website.

For example you pay $12.99 + $6.99 shipping for a 4 pack of ear candles at Walmart.

At EarCandles.US you get a 4 pack for $11.95 with FREE SHIPPING.

EarCandleSale.com has ear candles for $.69 cents each with $7.99 PRIORITY MAIL shipping.

You do the math.

Just remember when you are buying ear candles to get as close to the maker as you can.  In other words buy direct.  You get a product that is made by an artisan who cares about what they do and you don’t get a 300% markup on the price!

Have a wonderful July!

Does Size Matter?

Posted in The Science of Ear Candles, Things to know when BUYING Ear Candles at 9:58 am by Administrator

The Ear Candle Lady has had a few emails since my last post complaining that companies are selling shorter candles.  Have you looked at a Pringles can lately?  I’m not sure if it’s for economic purposes (like Pringles), but I will state my opinions here.

NO. . . ear candle size doesn’t matter!

What you need to look for in a good ear candle is the burn time.  HOW LONG DOES THE CANDLE BURN? You also need to ask the company if the “burn time” they advertise is from the top of the candle to the tip of the candle.  Why?  Because you will NOT burn the candle all the way to the tip.  The tip is IN your ear and that. . .ahem, would HURT!  LOL

An ear candle is usually burned down about 3/4 ths of its length.   The remaining 4th is the part closest to your head.  It’s too dangerous to burn an ear candle any further which is also why the Ear Candle Lady rolls her eyes at anyone who doesn’t use a PLATE when ear candling.

So, what makes an ear candle burn longer?

Well, the length of  fabric used for starters.  You can use the same length of fabric to wrap a 12 inch candle as you do an 8 inch candle.   In fact most companies who sell 11-15 inch ear candles use 38″ (inches) of fabric cut anywhere from 3/4 to -1 1/4 inches wide.  Those who sell 8-10 inch candles use the same sizing!

Wax will also make a small difference in burn time.  Take a look here for more info on the different kinds of wax.

Bing, Yahoo & Google Ear Candles

Posted in Ear Candle Company Reviews, SALES- COUPONS- SPECIALS!!!, Things to know when BUYING Ear Candles at 3:17 pm by Administrator

I reported last Fall that Google was waging war on alternative therapies, supplements and especially EAR CANDLES.  In order for Google  to make more money they barred advertisers using the keyword “ear candles” or had the words “ear candles” in their domain names, and required them to apply to PAY for listings in their shopping network.  The general public thinks it is a “SEARCH” when in reality they are only seeing PAID ads for websites!  It’s a much more expensive way to advertise , which in turn costs YOU more for ear candles and LIMITS your choices to a few big companies who already charge too much for ear candles.

For example,  EarCandleLady.com , which doesn’t even SELL EAR CANDLES and is an information only website can’t even advertise on Google because the term “ear candle” is in my website name!!!

Well,  Bing & Yahoo are doing the same thing!  The Ear Candle Lady is embarrassed because I told all of you to start using Bing and Yahoo for your search engine.  I know I can’t tell you not to use ANY of these search engines;

Your email:

I do not get paid to recommend ear candle companies.  I do not allow companies to pay to advertise on my website.  I review ear candles, ear candle supplies and company customer service and award an “ear candle lady approval” if I feel I can put my name on the line for them.

Since the major search engines are shafting the “little guy” in favor of big bucks and costing YOU the consumer more $$, I am going to renew my efforts to promote ear candle companies in a way that you can find them easily without Google, Bing or Yahoo influencing your decisions with PAID ADVERTISING.

Stay tuned. . . .

I’ll be posting more as I get time to put them together.  My faith in the bumbling FDA just sank to a below zero percentage after the pics I found this month.

The most amazing thing, which escapes a LOT of consumers, is the pricing for “Medically Approved” tools vs. what the AMA and FDA brand as UNSAFE, ie: ear candles, q tips and peroxide.   We’ll start with my favorite pic below:

FDA "Approved" ear wax removal system

If Ear Candles are unsafe, then the spoon made me fat! I think I'd rather Ear Candle!

Of course doctors don’t want you to use cotton swabs, they can’t make any money off of them!  Just like ear candles.  The medical supply companies, which sell these stainless steel syringes to the public as well as your favorite ENT, are happy to see you part with your money.  It’s not that the treatment is “safer” ; the doctors just have to pay for their malpractice insurance!

The main complaint the FDA and Dr’s have about q-tips and ear candles is the potential damage to the ear drum.  Let’s take 2 seconds to think about that as you look at the “Approved” system above!!!!  I pity the unfortunate person who feels the puncture of a large metal needle capable of shooting a hard stream of water inside the inner ear.

Ok, I have to get back to putting more pictures together.  Just remember to support your ear candle companies by purchasing on a regular basis.

EAR MAINTENANCE  is extremely important.  Don’t wait until you have problems before you ear candle!  For complete and SAFER ear candling instructions (regardless of what brand you use) visit my website. http://www.earcandlelady.com

“Approved” Ear Wax Removal?

Watch for my upcoming post on what the FDA and the American Medical Association APPROVE as ear wax removal treatments.  OMGOODNESS!  You will be totally shocked what I found.

The Google Ear Candle War (update)

Posted in SALES- COUPONS- SPECIALS!!!, Things to know when BUYING Ear Candles at 11:50 am by Administrator

You can read the entire article, or just follow this advise:

Use Yahoo or Bing to search for your favorite ear candles.  Google has too much power and with too much power comes way too much Greed!

Your email:

So here is this week’s update on Google’s stratagem to eliminate alternative therapy advertising.  Yes, you saw that!  ALTERNATIVE THERAPY advertisers will eventually have to comply with Google if you want to continue to pull revenue from their search engine.

If you’ve done a search for ear candles on Google you will see two ads show up which have never been pulled; WALMART (who doesn’t even SELL ear candles) and of course GOOGLE SHOPS.   How convenient!

There are a few Mom and Pop survivors who’s ads have been pulled and they are still circumventing the system to keep their ads alive, but eventually they too will be pulled.

WHY?  Here’s the answer straight from Posted by Sameer Samat, Vice President of Product Management, Google Shopping (update:  the link I used to find this article is not available unless you dig deep into Google’s policies. . .interesting)

“Today we’re announcing a new initiative to improve our shopping experience over time–so that shoppers (your customers) can easily research purchases, compare different products, their features and prices, and then connect directly with merchants to make their purchase.

Google Shopping

First, we are starting to transition Google Product Search in the U.S. to a purely commercial model built on Product Listing Ads. This new product discovery experience will be called Google Shopping and the transition will be complete this fall. We believe that having a commercial relationship with merchants will encourage them to keep their product information fresh and up to date. Higher quality data—whether it’s accurate prices, the latest offers or product availability—should mean better shopping results for users, which in turn should create higher quality traffic for merchants.

We’re giving merchants a few months to transition to this new model. . .

I wanted to give you a cost comparison of Google Shops vs. Adwords , but in all my digging I can’t  find a single thing showing how much a Google Shop costs unless I sign up for an account!  Google is keeping secrets. . .

This article from Danny Sullivan explains that Google Shops will become another Amazon.com except businesses will have to bid on how much they are willing to pay in order for their ads to show up!  Google Shops will not offer a comprehensive listing of ear candle businesses (only paid listings).

Now here’s the CLINCHER:  Your product on Google Shops will also have to comply with Google’s Adword policies and ear candles are disapproved for the following reasons:

[Healthcare and medicines] Unapproved Pharmaceuticals and Supplements:

- Herbal and dietary supplements with active pharmaceutical or
dangerous ingredients
- Non-government approved or non-prescription products that are
marketed in a way that implies that they’re safe or effective for use
in preventing or treating a disease or ailment
- Products that imply or claim that they’re as effective as anabolic
- Products that imply or claim that they’re as effective as
prescription weight-loss drugs
- Products that contain ephedra
- Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in relation to weight loss/weight
control, or when promoted in conjunction with anabolic steroids
- Products that make false or misleading health claims
- Products with names that may be confusingly similar to anabolic
steroids, weight-loss drugs, prescription drugs, controlled substances,
or other products that aren’t allowed under this policy

For more information about this policy and instructions to fix this
problem, please see:

So, bottom line: EAR CANDLE BUSINESSES converting to GOOGLE SHOPS will be disapproved at some point (unless Google pulls their heads out)  and the Shops will cost the businesses more money to stay with Google.

That means they will have to pass that on to consumers, which means ear candle prices will go up.

The best thing to do is use Yahoo or Bing to do your searches and you will find better deals on ear candles there than on Google!

I will be offering a comprehensive listing of ear candle websites soon!

Warm Weather Ear Candling

Posted in Ear Candle Company Reviews, SALES- COUPONS- SPECIALS!!!, Things to know when BUYING Ear Candles at 1:02 pm by Administrator

4 packs for $5.25

Just a quick tip on candling during the Summer months or warm weather locations. When you get your ear candles home (or the post office leaves them at your door) make sure you put your package in the fridge for around 15-20 minutes BEFORE you open the package. This way the candles can cool and reset before you pick them up.

Oh, before I forget: I’ve mentioned this site before, but it bears mention again. CheapEarCandles.com . They carry 4 packs of premium quality paraffin ear candles for $5.25 each. If you need bulk ear candles you can get them as low as $.59 cents. I’ve ordered these candles before and they are very good.

I remember one fella who called a while back about his ear candles which the post office left on his porch. He’d gone out of town for the weekend and the package was outside, in the Florida heat, for 4 days. When he opened the box, his candles were a puddled mess of fabric strips and wax! This guy wanted to know if there was anyway to fix the candles. Sorry, but at that point it’s no use. The company wasn’t responsible for his “vacation” and he wasn’t responsible for what the post office did, HOWEVER, if he had purchased insurance on his package, the post office would have issued him a refund. Funny how that works. . . .

I also know of a Spa in Cancun that keeps their ear candles in the fridge year round.  They report the customers love the “coolness” of the candle during the heat of the day.

If you’re nervous about refrigerating your ear candles (in case someone mistakes them for cheese sticks-lol) just leave your package in the air conditioning for about 1/2 hour to cool before opening the box.

Paraffin candles hold up a little better in the heat than beeswax or soy, btw.

Remember to check out CheapEarCandles.com or go to my recommended company page to find other businesses that offer quality products, fast shipping and great prices.
